Do I need a Facebook account?

There are four ways to create a VarageSale account.  One way is to create an account that is verified by connecting to your Facebook account, which uses your currently logged in Facebook account to verify and authenticate your account on VarageSale. This means remembering a separate password is not needed.  

The reason VarageSale offers Facebook verification is so other members can see that you are a real person with the possibility of having common friends. This makes transactions more comfortable and creates a feeling of community within the VarageSale groups, helping to make it less anonymous.  The only information visible to non-Facebook friends is what you have chosen to make public on Facebook.  

Whenever a member requests to join a VarageSale community, the admin that manages that community will review their request to join. In some cases, the admin may request to view your Facebook profile as a means to further verify your account. You can always discuss this directly with them.
