How do I change my name if I signed up with cell phone verification, Google Sign in or Apple Sign In?

VarageSale accounts are verified three different ways. The first (and original way) is by creating an account connected to your existing Facebook account.  This is how all VarageSale accounts were created prior to the middle of 2017.  Please  use this article to learn how to change your name on a Facebook verified account. 

If you created your VarageSale account after mid-2017 by entering a cell phone number & verification code, or after late 2020 using Apple Sign In, here are the steps to change your name, if you are currently pending or denied in one community. If you are active in all communities, please reach out to our helpdesk for assistance with a name change: 

On iOS or Android apps:

1. Log into your VarageSale account access your Settings by tapping the Face icon in the bottom right corner and then "Settings" or by tapping "Change Location / Settings"
2. Tap "My Name"

   

3. Edit name to include your real first and last name and then tap "Save" 
4. Be sure to reply to the admin message you received to let them know your name change is complete

On Desktop Website:

1. Log into your VarageSale account and access your Preferences by clicking on the name/profile picture area in the top right corner then clicking on "Preferences" 
2. On the profile page, edit name to include your real first and last name
3. Click on "Update About Me" to save changes
4. Be sure to reply to the admin message you received to let them know your name change is complete
