5 Tips for a Smooth, Safe and Friendly Transaction

VarageSale is community based to make transactions more comfortable and less anonymous. When shopping, here are 5 things we encourage members to do for a smooth, safe and friendly transaction:

1 - Check out the member’s profile - You will see their profile picture and VarageSale praises, which show they have had successful transactions with other VarageSale members.  This is an easy way to feel a bit more comfortable about meeting up with someone you haven't met before.

2 - Keep private information private - Use VarageSale's private messaging system to exchange meet details (such as when & where, type of car, etc) directly with the buyer or seller. Better to do this in private and not in the comments that are public.

3 - Meet where you are comfortable - You may want to start out in a public place and once you get to know a seller, meet at their or your home. Another option when meeting at someone’s home is to bring a friend.

4 - Some members might offer "porch pickup" or digital payment. While this is ultimately at your discretion, meeting in person and paying with cash is always the best option.

5 - Don't forget your phone - Be sure you have your phone with you before heading out to meets.
