How do I use the Apple Sign In option?
VarageSale users using iOS 13 or later have the option to create an account or sign in to an existing account using Sign in with Apple. This will allow you to access your VarageSale account using your existing Apple ID.
***If you have not yet signed in before with Apple Sign In, but have an existing VarageSale account, please ensure you follow these steps to properly link your accounts.***
Signing In Using Apple In
Once you have created a new account using Apple Sign In, or you have enabled Apple Sign In on your existing VarageSale account, you will use the following steps to log into VarageSale.
1. From the VarageSale app, click on "Sign in with Apple".
2. From the next box, click "Continue with Apple".
3. A box will appear asking if you want to sign in to VarageSale with your Apple ID. Click "Continue".
The VarageSale app will load and you will now be logged in.
Enabling Apple Sign In for Existing VarageSale Members
If you have an existing VarageSale account, please use the following instructions to enable Sign in with Apple. This will allow you to use your Apple ID to sign in to your VarageSale account.
1. Sign in to your VarageSale account as you normally would (using Facebook or email address and password).
2. Click on "Me" at the bottom right of the app.
3. Click on "Settings".
4. Click on "Enable Apple Sign-in".
5. From the page that opens, select "Enable Apple Sign-in".
6. A box will come up prompting you to sign in to VarageSale with your Apple ID.
- You will notice you have the option to update your name and share or hide your email address. Changing these settings will not make changes to your existing VarageSale account. Your VarageSale account will continue to use the same name and email as before.
7. After you have made your selections, you will need to continue and authenticate your Apple ID using your password or Touch ID.
Once this is done, you will be taken back to your "Settings" page and Apple Sign In will now be enabled.
Creating a new VarageSale Account using Apple Sign In
If you wish to create a brand new VarageSale account using your Apple ID, please use the following instructions.
(If you already have a VarageSale account, please refer to the "Existing VarageSale Member" instructions above. The instructions below will result in a brand new VarageSale account.)
1. From the VarageSale app, click on "Sign in with Apple".
2. You will be reminded that continuing with these steps will result in a brand new VarageSale account. If you wish to proceed, click "Continue with Apple".
3. A box will come up prompting you to sign into VarageSale using your Apple ID.
- At this point, you can ensure your name is how you want it displayed on VarageSale. If you wish to make a change, simply click on your name. Please keep in mind, members on VarageSale are expected to use their real first and last name.
- You will also have the option to Share or Hide your email address.
4. After you have made your selections, you will need to continue and authenticate your Apple ID using your password or Touch ID.
The VarageSale app should now load and you will be logged into your new account.
