What is the Top Member program?
The Top Members program is our way of celebrating and highlighting our most active members on VarageSale. Top Members will get a badge next to their name in various places. This indicates to others that they’re Top Members.
How do we figure out who is a Top Member? We’re using a combination of factors here, which you can read more about here: https://www.varagesale.com/top_members.
Top Members need a total of 5 praises since joining, 1 new praise per month and 5 transactions with 5 members per month. A transaction is defined as one meeting with a member, even if there are multiple items. They must also be in good standing with VarageSale, which means we know they’re behaving in the best way possible when interacting with other members.
We calculate whether someone's a Top Member at the end of every month (midnight Eastern Time) and then we let them know via notification on the first day of the new month. You can track your progress in our Top Member Progress page (found under your Settings/Preferences - see below for details). Everyone has a chance of being a Top Member if they’re active enough on VarageSale, but it’s not meant to be easy. We expect only a small percentage of members will be recognized as Top Members.
We believe that the Top Member program will encourage people to behave in the best possible way and remain as active as possible; and we know both of those things are super important for building awesome communities.
